It's over - the line has been crossed !!

Wow - I've done it - I've completed the route of the London Marathon (plus many tube station tunnels and stairs)

It still doesn't feel real, sitting here writing this a few days later.

It's hard to believe a year ago today at my 50th birthday party I announced my Challenge, much to everyone's surprise. I'm sure, like me, there were a few who wondered if I would do it - but I have !!

I took so many photos on Saturday - not easy with my walking pole and an umbrella. In the next few days I will write up a proper route walk but I wanted to post up a few things first.

I have said it in many posts and included many photos of him but I have to say an unmeasurable THANK YOU to my amazing Hubby Nick

He has been so so supportive through all my Challenge, in so many ways, always there, especially the following days when things are tough. He's walked every step with me however slowly and however much I've needed to hold on. I would not have completed any of this Challenge without him, he's been absolutely amazing.

We've done it !!
Nick even had a medal and trophy for me at the finish line - he's so thoughtful, he'd carried them all the way, it was such a surprise.

Saturday was also my birthday and it was just perfect having our son Michael, his girlfriend Holly and our daughter Philippa with us too. The five of us have had a great time, even walking in the rain.

Our friends Dave and Agnes joined us for the final route - they also did Route 4 with us earlier in the year. Huge thank you to them for 'strolling along' too although I do wonder why it has only rained on Route 4 & 8 ?? Keith also joined us for the last part of the route making us a group of 8 for the finish of Route 8.

As these few 'out take' photos show we all had a great day - even in the rain !!

Oh -  there's nothing better than leaning on a lamppost !!
More donations were made on Saturday - I cannot really express through the text on here just how much these donations have meant to me - you have been incredibly kind and generous, thank you.

My full blog about Route 8 and all the London sights will be live later this week :)
